Bussières is a French commune with 1,545 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Roanne and the canton of Le Coteau (until 2015: canton of Néronde ). The inhabitants are called Bussiérois .

Bussières is about forty kilometers west-northwest of Lyon . Bussières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Just-la-Pendue in the north, Sainte-Colombe-sur-Gand in the north and north-east, Sainte-Agathe-en-Donzy in the east, Rozier-en-Donzy in the south and south-east, Pouilly- lès-Feurs in the southwest and Néronde in the west.
