Saint-Polgues is a French municipality with 259 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). Saint-Polgues belongs to the Arrondissement of Roanne and the canton of Boën-sur-Lignon (until 2015 Saint-Germain-Laval ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Polguais .

Saint-Polgues is 85 kilometers west-northwest of Lyon . Saint-Polgues is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bully in the north and northeast, Vézelin-sur-Loire with Dancé in the east and southeast, Souternon in the south and Cremeaux in the west.
