Coutouvre is a French commune with 1,101 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Roanne in the canton of Charlieu (until 2015: canton of Perreux ). Montagny is a member of the Association of Municipalities Roanne Agglomération .

Coutouvre is about ten kilometers east-northeast of Roanne . Coutouvre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nandax and Boyer in the north, Jarnosse in the northeast, La Gresle in the east, Montagny in the south, Perreux in the west and southwest and Vougy in the west and northwest.
