The Roannais Agglomération is a French association of municipalities in the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the Loire department , whose administrative seat is in the town of Roanne . history

It was established on December 18, 2012 by prefectoral decree and started its work on January 1, 2013. It was created by amalgamation

• the Communauté d'agglomération Grand Roanne Agglomération ,
• the Communauté de communes du Pays de la Pacaudière ,
• the Communauté de communes de la Côte Roannaise ,
• the Communauté de communes de l'Ouest roannais
• and the Communauté de communes du Pays de Perreux

including the municipality of Saint-Alban-les-Eaux .

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association determines the housing policy. In environmental matters , he is responsible for immission control as well as sewage disposal, refuse collection and waste disposal. He also runs the road maintenance department, parts of local public transport and school bus services. In addition, the association builds and maintains cultural and sports facilities and promotes events in these areas.
