Changy is a French municipality with 637 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Roanne and the Canton of Renaison .
geography
The municipality is located around 20 kilometers northwest of Roanne in the Côte Roannaise wine-growing region , which extends on the slopes of the Monts de la Madeleine mountain range. Neighboring communities are:
- La Pacaudière in the north,
- Vivans in the northeast,
- Saint-Forgeux-Lespinasse in the east,
- Ambierle in the south,
- Saint-Bonnet-des Quarts to the west and
- Le Crozet in the northwest.
The municipality is drained by the Arçon and Teyssonne rivers in an easterly direction towards the Loire.
The community had a stop on the Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons-Lyon-Perrache railway line, which is no longer served today.
