Cherier is a French village with 559 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016: Rhône-Alpes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Roanne and the Canton of Renaison (until 2015: Canton Saint-Just-en-Chevalet ). The inhabitants are called Tuiliérands .

geography

Cherier is about 20 kilometers west-southwest of Roanne in the Forez . Cherier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Arcon in the north, Villemontais in the east and north-east, Saint-Jean-Saint-Maurice-sur-Loire in the east and south-east, Cremeaux in the south, Saint-Just-en-Chevalet in the west and south-west and La Tuilière in the West.
