André Meyer (lawyer)

André Meyer (* 1976 ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Bayreuth .

Life

After high school and military service, Meyer studied law at the Universities of Osnabrück and Leiden from 1996 . In 2001 he passed his first state examination in law in Osnabrück. He then completed a master's degree in tax science in Osnabrück, which he completed with an LL.M Taxation. In 2005 Meyer completed his doctorate with Rainer Hüttemann in Osnabrück. iur. from. His work was awarded the 2006 Weser-Ems Science Prize from the OLB Foundation . He then completed his legal clerkship, which he completed in 2007 with the second state examination. Thereupon he returned to the chair Hüttemann, who meanwhile taught at the University of Bonn , as its assistant back to devote himself to his habilitation. He completed this in 2013 and received the venia legendi for the subjects civil law, commercial and corporate law and tax law. This work in turn was awarded the Albert Hensel Prize 2013 of the German Tax Law Society .

This was followed by substitute professorships for Meyer at the universities of Bonn, Heidelberg and Freiburg im Breisgau . Since 2015 he has held the full professorship for civil law and tax law, corporate and accounting law (civil law XI) at the University of Bayreuth .

André Meyer is married and has two children.
