Al Fursan ( Arabic الفرسان, DMG al-Fursān  'the knights') is the aerobatic demonstration team of the United Arab Emirates Air Force . It was founded in 2010 with Aermacchi MB-339NAT jet aircraft built in Italy . The team has a total of seven aircraft, all of which are used for performances. It is often stated that the seventh machine will act as a reserve, but all seven flew at the IDEX 2015 show in Abu Dhabi. To build the team, the United Arab Emirates Air Force received the technical training, both in theory and in practice, from the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori . The Frecce Tricolori uses the same type of aircraft and modifications to produce colored smoke. Al Fursan made demonstrations at the Bahrain International Airshow 2012 and 2014, RIAT Airshow in Great Britain 2012, Dubai Airshow 2013, Belgian Airforce Days 2014, Air14 in Payerne, Muscat Oman 2015, MAKS 2017.
