The Escuadrilla acrobatica Cruz del Sur ("Southern Cross Aerobatic Flight") is the aerobatic team of the Argentine Air Force (FAA).

history

The aerobatic team was founded in 1962 and existed until 1985. During this time, North American F-86s were flown . In 1997 it was re-established and from then on it flew seven Sukhoi Su-29 AR aerobatic planes. It consists of seven active FAA officers. The squadron is part of the 4th Air Force Division of Fuerza Aérea Argentina and was based in the city of Mendoza . Six FMA IA 63 Pampa 2 have been in use since 2013 . The current home base is now in Moron near Buenos Aires .
