La Versanne (formerly Ruthiange ) is a French municipality with 373 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in Canton Le Pilat (2015: Canton Bourg-Argental ) and part of the municipal association Monts du Pilat . The municipality is part of the Pilat Regional Nature Park . The inhabitants are called Rhutiangers .

La Versanne is located about 18 kilometers southeast of Saint-Étienne . La Versanne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tarentaise in the north, Thélis-la-Combe in the east, Bourg-Argental in the southeast, Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue in the south, Saint-Régis-du-Coin in the west and southwest and Saint-Genest -Malifaux in the northwest.
