Andrézieux
From here to Saint-Étienne, France's first railway line, the Saint-Étienne – Andrézieux line , was built in 1823 . The railway started operating in 1827. In 1832 this line was extended towards Roanne with the Roanne – Andrézieux railway, the third railway line in France. This line was later rerouted in the area of Bouthéon and integrated into the Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons-Lyon-Perrache railway . This gave Bouthéon a train station in 1864, which is still served by the TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes trains on the Roanne- Saint-Étienne-Châteaucreux route.
Bouthéon
Bouthéon Castle was built in the 13th century.
In 1962, Saint-Étienne - Bouthéon Airport opened in the Bouthéon area.
