The District of Saint-Galmier was until 2015 the canton in the arrondissement of Montbrison in the Loire department of the French region of Rhône-Alpes . The main town was Saint-Galmier . The representative in the conseil général des Départements was Paul Salen ( UMP ) from 1995 to 2013 . Michèle Maras (also UMP) succeeded him until 2015.
