Wladimir Sergejewitsch Semakow ( Russian Владимир Сергеевич Семаков ; born  May 11, 1985 in Saransk ) is a Ukrainian and formerly Russian biathlete .

Career

Vladimir Semakov started internationally for the first time as part of the world championships in the junior summer biathlon in Osrblie , where he was 24th in the sprint, 16th in the pursuit, eleventh in the mass start and fourth in the relay. It was not until the Junior World Championships 2006 in Presque Isle that the Russian was used again internationally. In the USA he finished 32nd in individual competitions, 19th in sprint and 25th in pursuit. Semakov's start at the Junior European Championships in Langdorf, which took place shortly afterwards, was far more successful . In the individual he just missed a medal in fourth place, in sprint, pursuit and with Pavel Borisow, Viktor Wassiljew and Yevgeny Ustjugow in the relay race he won three gold medals.

At the start of the 2007/08 season , Semakow made his debut in the European Biathlon Cup and thus in the performance area. In Geilo he ran in his first race, a sprint, to 12th place and thus to the points. It should remain his best result in the racing series until 2010, when he finished fifth in the sprint and pursuit at Pokljuka . The first major event for men and the only international appearance of the year were the 2008 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Haute-Maurienne , where the Russian finished 20th in the sprint and 17th in the pursuit in the roller ski competitions . In the following year, Semakow started internationally only at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2009 . In Oberhof he reached 17th place on roller skis in the sprint and was 18th in the pursuit. The first major event in winter was the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , where the Russian finished sixth in the individual and with Alexei Wolkow , Dmitri Malyschko and Viktor Wassiljew behind German representation won the silver medal in the relay competition.

Nationally, Semakov won the silver medal with the relay at the Russian Biathlon Championships 2009 in Uwat with the representation of the Republic of Mordovia . He won the title in 2010 with Marsel Sharipov , Artyom Ushakov and Viktor Wassiljew .
