Tatjana Andreyevna Akimova , born Semyonova , ( Russian Татьяна Андреевна Акимова (Семёнова) ;. English transcription Tatiana Akimova ( Semenova ); * 26. October 1990 in Cheboksary , Chuvash ASSR , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian biathlete .

Career

Tatjana Semjonowa made her first international appearance at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , where she was 17th in the sprint and tenth in the pursuit. The 2011 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě followed later in the year . In the sprint race she placed 23rd with three shooting errors, in the pursuit race based on the sprint she was 23rd again with ten errors and was the last starter not taken out of the race as a lapped runner.

On June 11, 2015, she married the biathlete Vyacheslav Akimov and took his family name.

Tatjana Akimowa won her first World Cup victory in December 2016 in the sprint race in Nové Město. There she finished ahead of Anaïs Chevalier and Susan Dunklee .

In 2017 she won the bronze medal with the mixed relay at the Biathlon World Championships in Hochfilzen .

In the following season she took part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , where she achieved her best result with 15th place in the individual.

Akimova became the mother of a daughter on August 10, 2019, after which she took a break from the 2019/20 season . In the previous year she had not participated in competitions due to her pregnancy.
