The 16th IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships took place in 2011 in the Vysočina Arena in Nové Město na Moravě , Czech Republic . The medals were awarded in two individual disciplines for men and women as well as in a mixed relay.

The most successful participant was the Russian biathlete Dmitri Yaroshenko , who returned after a doping ban only in the course of the preseason , who won all three possible titles.
