Karolina Pitoń (born February 25, 1987 in Zakopane ) is a Polish biathlete .

Karolina Pitoń lives in Kościelisko and studies sports science. The athlete from the BKS WP - Kościelisko is trained by Adam Jakiela and has been a member of the Polish national team since 2006. The young Polish woman had her first important international assignment in 2004 at the Junior World Championships in Haute-Maurienne . There she was 61st in the individual and 52nd in the sprint. Later in the year Pitoń competed in her first races in the Junior European Cup. Two years later she started again in Presque Isle at the Junior World Championships and was there 34th in the individual, 23rd in the sprint, 16th in the pursuit and eleventh in the relay competition. The best results at the Junior European Championships in Langdorf in the same year were ninth place with the relay and 37th in the pursuit. The 2007 Junior World Championships in Martell brought the best result in 40th place in the pursuit race. The best results of the Junior European Championship 2007 in Bansko were 17th place in the sprint and five with Weronika Nowakowska and Marta Koza in the relay race. In the summer of the year she started at the Summer Biathlon Junior World Championship in Otepää . At the world championships in Estonia, he finished 14th in the cross-country mass start and 13th in the roller ski sprint. In 2008 Pitoń took part in a Junior World Championship for the last time in Ruhpolding . The best result was place 23 in the pursuit. The most successful major event of the junior era was the 2008 European Championship in Nové Město na Moravě . In the individual she only reached rank 35, in the sprint she only had to admit defeat to Marine Bolliet . At the start of the 2008/09 season Pitoń debuted in Östersund in the biathlon world cup and was there 86th in the sprint race. She competed in the IBU Cup for the rest of the season . Her first race was a sprint in Idre , where she finished 50th. The best result so far is a 27th place, achieved in a 2008 sprint in Martell. The first real major event was the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa . In the individual she reached place 26, in sprint and pursuit 24. In the relay race she reached seventh place with Katarzyna Leja , Magdalena Kępka and Katarzyna Jakieła . At the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof , she was 22nd in the cross-country sprint competition, 23rd in the subsequent pursuit. In the roller ski competitions, Pitoń reached 35th place in the sprint and was 32nd in the pursuit. Shortly before, she won her first medal in the performance area with the silver medal alongside Nykiel, Tomasz Puda and Sebastian Witek in the mixed relay race at the 2009 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Nové Město. She also finished 19th in the sprint and 20th in the pursuit. The next big event was the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , where Pitoń was 46th in the individual, 27th in the sprint, 32nd in the pursuit and seventh in the relay. In 2011 , in Ruhpolding, she achieved her best result in the World Cup so far, finishing 71st in an individual. At the European Biathlon Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , the ranks 17 in the individual, 25 in the sprint and 23 in the pursuit were added, with the relay it was lapped. Later in the year Pitoń started in Nové Město na Moravě at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2011 and was lapped 31st in the sprint and in the pursuit. At the Polish Championships in 2012 , she won her first national title with the sprint.
