Eugen Kohlenbach

Eugen Kohlenbach (born August 15, 1930 in Herne / Westphalia ; † January 17, 2016 ) was a Lower Saxony politician ( CDU ). From 1976 to 1994 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Eugen Kohlenbach attended grammar school in Herne (today's Pestalozzi grammar school in Herne ), was the first student representative there and passed the school leaving examination in 1952. He began studying economics and social sciences in Münster and Freiburg. In 1956 he completed his studies with a degree in economics and in the same year took up a job in adult education. Between 1957 and 1960 he was a speaker for “Social Seminars” in Osnabrück . Between 1961 and 1963 he was a consultant in the Franz-Wärme-Haus in Münster / Westphalia. From 1964 to 1967 he was a lecturer for economics and social studies at the Seminar for Citizenship eV in Olpe/Westphalia. Subsequently he was director of the Niels-Stensen-Haus, house for adult education and folk high school, until 1985 . Subsequently, he was a consultant for adult education at the college for church community service in Hildesheim for three years until 1988 .

Kohlbach became a member of the CDU in 1959. Between 1973 and 1980 he was chairman of the CDU branch in Lilienthal . In 1986 he became chairman of the CDU local branch in Worpswede . He was also a deputy member of the Broadcasting Council of Radio Bremen between 1969 and 1978 ; he was a member of the committee for educational broadcasts. From 1972 to 1976 he was chairman of the district parents' council in the Osterholz district .

Public offices

Kohlbach was a member of Lilienthal's municipal council from 1974 to 1981 . From 1976 to 1981 he was a member of the district council of the Osterholz district and chairman of the district school committee. From the 8th to the 12th electoral term (from 1976 to 1994) he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. From January 1984 to June 1990 he was chairman of the committee for science and art and from June to October 1990 chairman of the cultural committee.
