Katarzyna Ponikwia (born October 29, 1982 in Zakopane ) is a Polish biathlete .

Katarzyna Ponikwia made her international debut in 2000 at the European Championships in Zakopane, where she was born . She finished fourth in the sprint and won bronze in the relay. In Haute-Maurienne the following year she started without much success. In 2002 in Kontiolahti Ponikwia was fifth with the season. In 2003 in Forni Avoltri , 2004 in Minsk and 2005 in Langdorf , she again took part without any notable results. Even in the four participations in the Junior World Championships from 2000 to 2003, she could not achieve any outstanding success.

In the Biathlon World Cup , Ponikwia made his debut in 2001 in a relay race (13th) and a sprint (94th) in Antholz . To date, she has only been able to achieve a World Cup point as 30th in the sprint race of the 2007 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz. Ponikwia first took part in the biathlon world championships in 2001 in Pokljuka (75th in the sprint). Also in 2004 and 2005 she started at world championships. She was successful in 2004 and 2007 as eighth and tenth with the season.

The highlight of his career was the start at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin . In the individual she was 56th in the sprint 63 and with the relay a good seventh.
