Krzysztof Pływaczyk

Krzysztof Pływaczyk (born February 11, 1983 in Wałbrzych ) is a Polish biathlete .

Krzysztof Pływaczyk started in 2002 without any significant success at the Junior World Championships in Ridnaun and the Junior European Championships Kontiolahti on an international level. In Windischgarsten he made his debut in the European Cup the following season and was 24th in the sprint. In the second race, an individual in Obertilliach , he finished seventh in the top 10 for the first time. The highlight of the season was again the Junior World Championship in Kościelisko . Here he was tenth in the sprint. In 2004 he started in Beitostølen for the first time in a relay race (13th) in the Biathlon World Cup . At the Biathlon World Championships in 2005 in Hochfilzen , he achieved his best position in an individual World Cup race to date with a 24th place in an individual. He finished eighth in the season. The highlight of Pływaczyk's career so far was his participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . Here he started in the individual (76th) and with the relay (13th). In the summer of 2006 he took part in the world championships in summer biathlon in Ufa and won the silver medal in the pursuit behind Maxim Tschudow .
