Aliona Sabaliauskienė (born May 14, 1989 as Aliona Sosunova ) is a former Lithuanian biathlete .

Aliona Sabaliauskienė started under her maiden name Sosunova until her wedding after the 2010/11 season . She competed in her first international races at the Summer Biathlon World Championships in 2007 , where she was 32nd in the sprint in cross-country races and tenth in the relay and 30th in the sprint on roller skis . In the roller-ski pursuit, she could not finish the race as a lapped runner. Since the winter of 2007/08 she started in junior races in the IBU Cup and its predecessor, the European Cup. The first major event in winter was the 2008 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding , where Sabaliauskienė was 57th in the individual and 76th in the sprint. This was followed by participation in the junior races of the Biathlon European Championships in 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě . In the Czech Republic, the Lithuanian took 62nd place in the sprint, having just reached the pursuit race as 60th of the sprint, which she was unable to finish as a lapped runner. In 2009 she did not take part in the Junior World Championships, but started again in Ufa in the junior races of the EM. She was 24th in the individual, 28th in the sprint and seventh in the relay. In the further course of the year she took part in the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2009 in Oberhof and reached eighth place in the sprint and 16 in the pursuit in cross-country skiing and was 39th in the sprint on roller skis. In 2010 Sabaliauskienė competed in her second Junior World Championships in Torsby and came in 35th place in singles, 39th in the sprint and 42nd in the pursuit. Shortly afterwards she started in Otepää at her third European Championship . In the individual, Lithuania achieved a top ten placement, was 33rd in the sprint and 29th in the pursuit. Then she took part again in the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2010 in Duszniki-Zdrój and came in 30th in the sprint and sixth with the relay.

Sabaliauskienė has been taking part in IBU Cup women's races since the 2008/09 season . She contested her first race in the second highest series of the biathlon in Obertilliach and was 67th of a sprint. In 2009 she won her first points as 16th of an individual in Osrblie and at the same time achieved her best placement in the IBU Cup. In the 2009/10 season the Lithuanian made her debut in Ruhpolding in the Biathlon World Cup , where she was 109th in a sprint. In Kontiolahti , she reached 81st place a little later and at the same time her best result in the World Cup so far. The first international championship for women was the 2011 European Biathlon Championships in Ridnaun , where she finished 48th in the sprint and did not finish in the pursuit as a lapped runner. This was followed by the previous highlight of his career, participation in the Biathlon World Championships 2011 in Khanty-Mansiysk . In Siberia Sabaliauskienė reached an 87th place in the individual, was 93rd of the sprint and was with Diana Rasimovičiūtė , Aleksandr Lavrinovič and Karolis Zlatkauskas despite lapping 24th in the mixed relay race. Later in the year she ran at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě and came in 27th place in the sprint and was 22nd in the pursuit.
