Ioannis Nimpitis ( Greek Ιωάννης Νιμπίτης , born April 24, 1995 ) is a Greek biathlete and cross-country skier .

Career

Ioannis Nimpitis had his first international outing at the Junior Rollerski World Cup 2010 in Thessaloniki , where he competed in the 200 meter sprint and finished 16th. In the overall standings he was 52nd. In 2011 he ran his first international races, in cross-country skiing in the Balkan Cup and in FIS races, in biathlon as part of the IBU Cup . In the latter competition he was 71 in his first sprint in Bansko . The first major event was the 2011 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , in which Nimpitis was 59th in the junior sprint and failed to finish in the pursuit race as a lapped runner. For the mixed relay he was appointed to the Greek A-team and was lapped ninth alongside Panagiota Tsakiri , Kleanthis Karamichas and Christina Kiourkenidou as the final runner and youngest participant in the A-class races.
