Vít Jánov (born December 25, 1987 in Jablonec nad Nisou ) is a Czech biathlete .

Vít Jánov is a student and lives in his hometown Jablonec nad Nisou. In 2000 he started biathlon and competes for the SKP Jymbolx Jablonec nN . The athlete, trained by Stanislav Řezáč , has been a member of the Czech national biathlon squad since 2005 . He made his first international appearances in 2005 as part of the junior races of the Biathlon European Cup , where he finished sixth in a sprint in Ridnaun in 2006 and finished in the top ten. A little later he went to Presque Isle at his first Junior World Championships and finished 40th in the individual, 34th in the sprint and 28th in the pursuit race. Shortly afterwards, he also started at the Junior European Championships in Langdorf , where he finished fifth both in the individual and in the relay. In 2007 Jánov again took part in the Junior World Championships in Martell , where he placed 68 in the individual, 19 in the sprint, 13 in the pursuit and six with the relay. In 2008 the Junior World Championships followed in Ruhpolding with the results of 41 in the individual, 51 in the sprint, 31 in the pursuit and ten in the relay competition. The Junior European Championships of the year were more successful in Nové Město na Moravě , where Jánov was able to improve to seventh place after a 25th place in the sprint in the pursuit and was fifth with the Czech relay. This was followed by participation in the junior competitions on roller skis at the 2008 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Haute-Maurienne , where the Czech came seventh in sprint and pursuit.

During the season 2008/09 the change from the juniors to the seniors took place. He contested his first race in the men's IBU Cup in Langdorf, where he finished 18th in a sprint and thus won his first points in the first race. In Altenberg in 2009 the Czech was able to achieve a single-digit place for the first time as fourth in a sprint race and at the same time his best result so far in this racing series. The first major event for men in the performance area was the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa for Jánov . In individual he reached 12th place and was 29th in the sprint and 27th in the pursuit race. The next major event was the 2009 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Nové Město, where Jánov finished 33rd in the sprint and thus missed the mass start of the best 33. In 2010 the Czech competed at the European Championships. In Otepää he finished 22nd in the individual, 30th in the sprint and 34th in the pursuit. With Tomáš Krupčík , Ondřej Exler and Vlastimil Vávra , he finished 14th in the relay race. After the EM Jánov made his debut in the biathlon world cup . He competed in his first races at Holmenkollen in Oslo and reached 52nd place in the sprint and thus qualified for the pursuit, in which he was 53rd.
