Stanislav Řezáč (born April 29, 1973 in Jablonec nad Nisou ) is a Czech cross-country skier . He specializes in long distances and won the Cross-Country Marathon Cup in 2005 and 2012 . He also took first place in the overall ranking of the Ski Classics 2011.
Career
Řezáč made his international debut in 1994. After an FIS race in Tauplitz, which he finished 37th, he was used for the first time in the cross-country world cup just a few days later . At the same point, however, he just followed the world's best over the 15 km in classic style and finished in 67th place. In February 1995 he was used in two Continental Cups in Brusson and scored first points in the first as 23rd.
After Řezáč in Bedřichov was second on the podium in the FIS race for the first time and also achieved a good place in the top 20 in the second race in 14th, he was used again in the World Cup in January 1996 in Nové Město na Moravě , was there but only on rank 73. At the beginning of the 1996/97 season he finished 106th in Kiruna . In Davos , too , he was only on a weak 101st place. In the winter of 1997/98 the Czech competed in FIS races in his home country and took first place twice in Bedřichov and Nové Město. In Nové Město he was used again a little later in the World Cup and ran over the 30 km to a good 55th place for him.
At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein , he ran over the 50 km in classic style to 46th place. In 2000 he paused except for two starts at FIS races in Idre at World Cup level. However, for the first time he won the König-Ludwig-Lauf , which is part of the cross-country skiing marathon cup held for the first time , and the Jizera Mountains run over 50 km. He repeated this success in 2001.
In January 2002 Řezáč started in the cross-country skiing marathon cup . In Predazzo he ran straight away to 28th place before finishing 16th in Otepää two weeks later . In Mora , Sweden , he finished seventh in the top 10 in this series. In 2002 he also won the Birkebeinerrennet , the Jizera Mountains run over 30 km freestyle, and the Kangaroo Hoppet . In January 2003 he was in the Jizera Mountains Run, which is now part of the Cross-Country Skiing Marathon Cup, as second again on a podium in this series. He was also on the podium in Moena-Cavalese, at the König-Ludwig-Lauf in Oberammergau and in Otepää. In the Wasalauf ran in third place.
In December 2003 he was used in the Sprint World Cup in Val di Fiemme , but failed already in the qualifying heats and was ranked 49th in the end. At the Jizera Mountains Run in 2004 he was twelfth. At the World Cup in the mass start over 70 km, he crossed the finish line in 19th place and collected his first World Cup points. With the 12 points gained, he reached 126th place in the overall World Cup and 87th place in the Distance World Cup. Back in the cross-country skiing marathon cup, he won the König-Ludwig-Lauf and ran in second place at the American Birkebeiner in Hayward . Also in the season she won the Gatineau Loppet over 53 km classic and 42.5 km freestyle. At the turn of 2004/05, Řezáč won the Vasaloppet China . Back in Europe, Řezáč came third in the Jizera Mountains Run. On January 30, 2005, he won the Marcialonga . He was also the first to cross the finish line at the König-Ludwig-Lauf and the Birkebeinerrennet between Rena and Lillehammer . With this, Řezáč secured first place in the overall standings and thus his first overall victory in the Cross-Country Marathon Cup. In February 2005 he won again at the Gatineau Loppet over 50 km classic.
In January 2006, Řezáč won as in the previous year at the Vasaloppet China . The following month he celebrated another victory in the König-Ludwig-Lauf and a victory in the Tartu Maraton . In March he finished in a good fourth place at the World Cup in Mora. As a result, his performance collapsed slightly. Although he secured some good placings and often only narrowly missed a podium in fourth place, he was only able to win another clear victory at the Birkebeinerrennet. In 2007 he won the Šumavský Skimaraton over 42 km classic. At the Czech Championships in March 2008 in Horní Mísečky , he won the silver medal behind Jiří Magál over 15 km in classic style . In 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 he won the classic 42 km race in the Dolomites .
In February 2009, Řezáč won the Šumavský Skimaraton over 45 km classic. and at the King Ludwig Run over 50 km classic. The following month he was third in the Wasalauf 2009 and won the classic 50 km Bieg Piastów . In December 2009 and January 2010 it was used again in two World Cups in Rogla and Otepää. However, he did not finish once and just missed the points as 37th. As a result, he remained a member of the Marathon Cup team again and celebrated another victory at the Birkebeinerrennet in March 2011. Furthermore, in 2010 and 2011 he won the Transjurassienne classic over 50 km. In January 2012 he also won the Jizera Mountains Run, came third in the Marcialonga and triumphed in the König-Ludwig-Lauf. After further good placings, including third place in the Wasalauf, he celebrated his second overall victory in the Cross-Country Marathon Cup.
In 2014 Řezáč was seventh in the Marcialonga and first in the Transjurassienne over 50 km classic. After he did not participate actively in the Marathon Cup for a year, he started again at Marcialonga in 2015 and finished 15th. In February 2015, Řezáč again won the Transjurassienne classic 56 km race. After 12th place at the beginning of the 2015/16 season in the Jizera Mountains Run , he won the classic 42 km Dolomite Run .
