Finlandia-hiihto
Finlandia-hiihto is the largest ski marathon in Finland . The run belongs to the series of Worldloppet runs. The race is held annually at the end of February. The start and end point is Lahti . On the competition weekend on Saturday, the 50 km and 32 km runs will be carried out in classic technique. On Sunday, the free technique runs over 50 km and 20 km.
The race has been held since 1974. The route originally had a length of 75 km and at that time led from Hämeenlinna to Lahti. More than a thousand skiers took part in the first run. The route length and route was changed several times in the period that followed.
