Niklas Colliander (born January 7, 1985 in Vantaa ) is a former Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Colliander, who started for the Vantaan Hihtoseura, ran in Vuokatti for the first time in the Scandinavian Cup in December 2005 and finished 111th over 15 km classic and 69th place in the sprint. He made his debut in the cross-country world cup in March 2007 in Lahti , which he finished in 69th place in the sprint. In January 2009 he got his first World Cup points with the 26th place in the sprint in Whistler and achieved his first podium place in the Scandinavian Cup with the third place in the sprint in Keuruu . He repeated this placement in December 2009 at the sprint in Vuokatti. In 2009 he won the Finlandia-hiihto over 50 km classic. In March 2010 he achieved his best result in the individual World Cup with eighth place in the sprint in Drammen . In the 2011/12 season he achieved third place over 15 km classic in Albu and second place in the sprint in Nes, 13th place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. At the Finnish championships in Imatra in 2012 , he finished second over 50 km classic. In his last active season 2012/13 he came 79th at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo . He ran his last international race in February 2013 in Otepää . There he was eighth in the Tartu Maraton .
