Liisa Anttila (born September 30, 1974 in Luopioinen , Pälkäne ) is a Finnish orienteer , ski orienteer and cross-country skier .

career

Anttila became long distance world champion in orienteering junior women in South Tyrol in 1993 . She also won the bronze medal in the short distance and silver with the Finnish women's relay. The following winter, she became three-time world champion junior women in orienteering in Rovaniemi .

In 1996 she won the Finnish active orienteering championships in long and ultra long distance. In 1997 she ran her first World Cup season in orienteering and was second in the overall standings, four points behind the Norwegian Hilde G. Pedersen . A year later, she took part in an active ski orienteering world championship for the first time. In Windischgarsten , Austria , she won the long distance title and, with her sister Mervi Anttila and Terhi Holster, in the relay. Over the short distance she was third behind the Swedes Annika Zell and Lena Hasselström . At the following World Championships in Krasnoyarsk in 2000 , she also won a medal in all three decisions: bronze in the short distance, silver in the long distance and again gold in the relay.

In 2001 the Summer Orienteering World Championships took place in Tampere, Finland . After the 1999 World Championships in Scotland, where she finished 23rd in the long distance, this was her second World Cup. She started in Tampere in the sprint, on the long distance and with the relay. While she was ninth in the sprint and seventh on the long distance, she won the relay world title with Reeta-Mari Kolkkala , Marika Mikkola and Johanna Asklöf . Subsequently, Anttila was to start at the orienteering world championships in 2003, 2007 and 2008 in the long distance, whereby she only finished tenth in the ranking in 2008.

In the orienteering ski race, however, other medals followed. In 2004 in Sweden she became world champion in ski orienteering for the third time with the relay and for the fourth time overall. By 2011 she had won a total of four silver and seven bronze medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships. She won four silver and one bronze medals at the European Orienteering Ski Championships. She won her only European title in 2008 with the relay.

In cross-country skiing, Anttila has so far (as of December 2013) made two World Cup appearances: in November 2001 she finished 83rd place over 10 km classic in Kuopio , on March 3, 2012 she made a second appearance in Lahti and was 60 in the skiathlon. In 2010 she was Finnish runner-up in the pursuit race behind Riitta-Liisa Roponen in Keuruu . In 2001 she was also sixth in Vehkalahti at the Finnish championships in cross-country running over 6 km.

Liisa Anttila belonged to the orienteering clubs Hämeenlinnan Suunnistajat (until 1998), Tampereen Pyrintö (1999 to 2005), Tampereen Koo-Vee (2006 to 2011) and Hernemäen Porina (since 2012). Her cross-country skiing club is Valkeakosken Haka , her athletics club is Luopioisten Luja . With Pyrintö she won the Venlojen viesti in 1999 and 2003 .

In 2004 she was named Orienteer Skiing of the Year in Finland.
