Judith Wyder
Judith Wyder (born June 25, 1988 in Bern ) is a Swiss orienteer .
career
Wyder was included in the Swiss national team in 2007 and ran for the first time at the Junior World Championships that same year. In Dubbo , Australia , she won the bronze medal in the Swiss junior relay. In 2011, she made her debut in France at the World Championships for active athletes and took third place in the middle distance. She won the bronze medal behind the Swede Helena Jansson and the Danish Ida Bobach . In 2012 she was fourth in the EM sprint in the city park of Falun . The victory went to her compatriot Simone Niggli-Luder in front of Lena Eliasson from Sweden and the Danish Maja Møller Alm . At the world championships two months later, she won the relay gold medal with Ines Brodmann and Niggli-Luder. The Swiss women had a lead of almost two and a half minutes on the Swedes at the finish. In 2013 she won bronze in the relay. At the 2013 World Games in Colombia, she was sixth in the sprint and fifth in the middle distance. With Daniel Hubmann , Sara Lüscher and Matthias Kyburz she won gold in the mixed relay for Switzerland.
In 2014 she won the gold medals in sprint, long distance and with Julia Gross and Sabine Hauswirth in the relay at her three starts at the European Championships in Palmela, Portugal . In July 2014 she was also world champion in sprint and relay (with Lüscher and Hausiwrth). She won another title with Rahel Friedrich , Martin Hubmann and Matthias Kyburz in the mixed relay, which was held for the first time at world championships. In the long distance race she won the bronze medal behind the Russian Swetlana Mironowa and the Swede Tove Alexandersson .
Wyder starts for the OLG Thun association . In international relays she runs for the Swedish club Göteborg Majorna OK . Before 2012 she started for the IFK Moras OK club . She studied physiotherapist and did her bachelor's degree at the Bern University of Applied Sciences . She also competed in the junior ski orienteering world championships and won silver in the long distance in 2008.
