Helena Jansson
Helena Jansson (born August 28, 1985 in Skövde ) is a Swedish orienteer .
Jansson came to the orienteering race at IF Hagen and starts today for the Leksands OK club . Between 2002 and 2005 Jansson won four medals at Junior World Championships with the Swedish relay team, including gold in 2004. In 2003 she won bronze in the long distance and in 2004 gold in the middle distance. In 2006 the first starts at European and World Championships in the elite class followed. The 2007 sprint victory at the Nordic Championships brought her a lot of attention. Since then she has also been part of the Swedish women's relay, with which she was runner-up in 2007. In 2008 she won in Latvia in the relay with Lina Persson and Emma Engstrandthe European title. In 2009 she became world champion for the first time. In the sprint in Miskolc , Hungary , she was well ahead of her compatriot Linnea Gustafsson . As the last runner of the relay (this time with Karolina A. Höjsgaard and Kajsa Nilsson ) she won silver. In 2009 she also managed to win the O-ring . She won every single stage. 2010 European championship titles followed in sprint and relay. At the 2011 World Championships , she was able to win medals in all competitions. After second place in the sprint behind Linnea Gustafsson and third place on the long distance, she won gold over the middle distance ahead of Dane Ida Bobach . With the season ( Tove Alexandersson and Annika Billstam ) she was third. At the end of the 2011 season, she secured the overall World Cup.
In 2012 Jansson won silver with the relay at the World Championships. She was also fourth in the sprint. In 2013 she won the World Cup opener in New Zealand in January but was not considered for the World Championships in Vuokatti, Finland .
