Orienteering World Cup

The Orienteering World Cup ( IOF World Cup ) is a series of competitions in orienteering organized by the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) . A series takes place over the calendar year and includes around twelve races. Also, World and European championships are taken in the standings.

The first World Cup races were held in 1983 and 1984. In 1986, eight official World Cup races took place for the first time. Until 2004 the series of competitions was held in a two-year mode, since 2004 competitions have taken place annually. Relay races were also held between 1994 and 2006.

The most successful athlete to date is the Swiss Simone Niggli-Luder , who won the overall World Cup nine times between 2002 and 2013, and in the men's category, the Swiss Daniel Hubmann is the most successful participant with five successes.
