Andrei Michailowitsch Chramow ( Russian Андрей Михайлович Храмов ; born January 17, 1981 in the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a Russian orienteer who has won six world championships since 2005 (as of 2012).

Career

As an 18-year-old, Chramow surprisingly won the 1999 Junior World Championships in Varna, Bulgaria, over the long distance. In 2001 he was able to win this title again in Miskolc, Hungary . In 2003 he started in Rapperswil for the first time at the world championships for active athletes and finished 16th in the sprint. Just one year later he advanced to the top of the world in the sprint sprint at the European Championships in Roskilde . With the Russian relay, he also won silver in the same year. In the final ranking of the overall World Cup in 2004, Chramow took second place. In 2005 he won a World Cup race for the first time in Surrey Hills, UK . At the world championships in Aichi , Japan , Chramow won his first world championship title over the long distance. Since then, he has won a title at every world championship until 2010 (2006, 2007 and 2010 with the relay, 2008 and 2009 in the sprint). Chramow also won the overall World Cup. At the World Games 2009 in Taiwan he won gold in the sprint and with the Russian mixed relay consisting of Dmitri Zwetkow , Julia Novikowa , Chramow and Galina Vinogradowa . At the World Games 2013 in Cali , Colombia , Chramow won silver in the sprint behind Matthias Kyburz and finished eighth in the mixed relay and 16th place in the middle distance.

Andrei Chramow lives in Sodowij near Krasnodar . He runs nationally for the SKVO Rostow na Don club from Rostov-on-Don . He runs internationally for the Finnish club Hiisirasti . As a member of the OK Pan-Kristianstad club , he became the Swedish sprint champion in 2006. In 2004 he completed his studies in traffic sciences. He is married and has a son and a daughter with his wife. Khramov also starts in athletics competitions. His 5000 meter best time is 14:05 minutes.
