Rolf Pettersson (orienteer)

Rolf Pettersson is a former Swedish orienteer .

Pettersson was three times world champion with the Swedish relay during his career. He ran in seasons with Gunnar Öhlund , Bernt Frilén , Arne Johansson , Erik Johansson , Gert Pettersson , Kjell Lauri , Lars Lönnkvist and Björn Rosendahl . At the World Championships in Scotland in 1976 he achieved his best individual result with a second place behind Egil Johansen from Norway. In 1977 he finished second at the Nordic Championships behind the Norwegian Sigurd Dæhli .

Rolf Pettersson won the Swedish long distance championship in 1973, 1976 and 1977, and the night orienteering championship in 1976. With his club Hagaby GoIF he won the Tiomila in 1975 and 1976 .
