Chris Risbjerg Terkelsen (born February 16, 1972 ) is a former Danish orienteer .

After good placements and winning a silver medal in the long distance at the Junior World Championships in 1991 in Berlin and 1992 in Jyväskylä , Terkelsen was nominated for the Danish national team. In 1993 he took part in his first world championship in West Point and was tenth on the short distance. Terklsen had the most successful times in 1997 and 1998. In 1997, in Grimstad , Norway , he was world champion in the Danish relay team with Torben Skovlyst , Carsten Jørgensen and Allan Mogensen . In 1998 he won the overall World Cup after individual victories in the Lake District , Krakow and Otepää, Estonia . In 1997 and 1998 he was also third in the final ranking of the Park World Tour . With the Norwegian club Halden SK he also won the Jukola in both years . A third victory followed in 2000. After these successes, he only started again in international championships in 2003. He then managed to get back to the top of the world, for example with a fifth place at the 2004 home European championships in the middle distance. In 2005 he won the spring cup . At the 2005 World Championships in Aichi , Japan , he was runner-up in the middle distance behind Thierry Gueorgiou from France. In 2006 he ran his last international championship season, but achieved no top ten placements in his four individual starts at the European and World Championships.

Terkelsen is 1.90 m tall and weighed 78 to 79 kg at competition times. During his career he started for the clubs Farum OK or Farum / Tisvilde , OK Gorm , IFK Göteborg , Halden SK and IFK Lidingö . He is co-founder and co-owner of the company TracTrac, which produces software for live tracking via GPS.
