Izz Al-Din Al-Tamimi
Sheikh Izz al-Din al-Tamimi ( Arabic عز الدين الخطيب التميمي, DMG ʿIzz ad-Dīn al-Ḫaṭīb at-Tamīmī ; * 1928 in Hebron , Palestine ; † 2008 ) was a Sunni scholar.
Life
He was a member of the Jordanian Senate , former Chief Justice of Jordan, former Minister for Foundations and Islamic Affairs, and former Grand Mufti of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
He was the chairman of the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Center (JICRC).
He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ") (October 13, 2007).
