Tore Sagvolden

Tore Sagvolden (* 1959 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian orienteer and ski orienteer .

career

In his successful career he was able to win three vice world titles, a bronze medal in individual and with the Norwegian relay from 1981 to 1987 four gold medals in a row.

At the 1979 World Championships in Tampere , Finland , the Norwegian team achieved a great triumph. Sagvolden was the third fastest runner behind his compatriots Øyvin Thon and Egil Johansen and made the triple victory for the Norwegians perfect. In the season, which was only sixth, Sagvolden has not yet been placed. In 1981 in Thun , Sagvolden won the silver medal behind Øyvin Thon and won gold in the relay. In 1983, the first four places went to Norway, with Sagvolden just missing the bronze medal by three seconds. In the season, however, he was able to win gold again. In 1985 the Norwegian winning streak broke: The Finn Kari Sallinen won ahead of Sagvolden, who had to be content with silver in the individual for the second time since 1981. With the Norwegian season, however, he managed to win his third season gold medal. Another was added in 1987 in Gérardmer, France . In singles, Sagvolden won his third silver medal in singles.

In ski orienteering, he was runner-up in the relay world championship in 1982 with Finn Kinneberg , Morten Berglia and Sigurd Dæhli .
