Orienteering World Championships 1983

The 10th World Orienteering Championships were held from 1. September bis 4. September 1983 in the area around Zalaegerszeg in Hungary instead.

The outstanding runners of the competitions were the Norwegian Morten Berglia and the Swede Annichen Kringstad , who won gold in both the individual run and the relay. Behind Berglia, three other Norwegians came in second to fourth in the men's individual run.
