Competition areas and maps

In the run-up to the World Championships, five areas around Vuokatti and Sotkamo were closed to orienteering activities. These are the two inner-city areas for the qualification and finals of the sprint competition (Katinkulta in Vuokatti and Hiukka in Sotkamo), an area south of Vuokatti with the two competition centers Koulurinne and Koljola and the Kumpula area southeast of Sotkamo. A reserve area south of Koljola was closed until June 7th. The venues are characterized by their easy accessibility, as you only need 20 to 30 minutes to get from the organization center to all competition locations.

The cards were created by Pasi Jokelainen (coordinator, sprint and training cards), Rauno Asikainen (long distance and training cards), Jussi Silvennoinen (medium distance, relay and training cards), Pekka Hiltunen (training cards) and Kimmo Nykänen (training cards). Programs from the Finnish company Mapline Oy from Sulkava were used for this purpose.
