Venla Heikintytär Niemi (born July 10, 1990 in Tampere ) is a Finnish orienteer .

Niemi won the middle distance world championship for juniors in Gothenburg in 2008 as well as long distance silver at the European youth championships. In 2011 she ran for the first time in the active and came in her first World Cup participation in the French department of Savoie in 16th place in the sprint. In 2012 followed a 10th place in the EM sprint and a 10th and a 6th place in the individual starts at the 2012 World Championships in Lausanne . In 2013 she won the bronze medal in the sprint at the World Championships in Finland, behind Simone Niggli from Switzerland and Annika Billstam from Sweden. Together with Anni-Maija Fincke and Minna Kauppi , she won the silver medal behind Norway with the Finnish relay team.

Niemi belongs to the Tampereen Pyrintö club from her hometown Tampere. In 2011, 2012 and 2013 Pyrintös won the Finnish relay championship with Saila Kinni , Anni-Maija Fincke and Niemi. In 2010 she won the Venlojen viesti , 2011 the Tiomila .
