Johannes von Wattenwyl (born March 18, 1541 - † May 28, 1604 ) was mayor of the city ​​of Bern .

Johannes von Wattenwyl became a member of the Grand Council of the City and Republic of Bern in 1566 , was an ambassador to Chambéry in 1570, received the Bailiwick of Lausanne in 1578 and became a member of the Small Council in 1581. In 1581 he became mayor of Bern. In 1589, Wattenwyl was Commander-in-Chief in the train against Savoy, which ended for Bern with the loss of the left bank of Lake Geneva. He was deposed as mayor on November 2, 1589 under pressure from public opinion.

Wattenwyl was married to Anna von Erlach, Elisabeth Pfyffer von Altishofen , Barbara Michel and Magdalena Nägeli. He owned properties in Ligerz , Twann and Malessert ( Perroy ).
