Annika Billstam
Annika Elisabet Billstam (born March 8, 1976 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish orienteer .
career
Billstam made it into the first national squad in 2007, which is why she was already 31 years old when she first competed in a world championship. For this she immediately won a silver medal with the relay (with Emma Engstrand and Helena Jansson ). In 2008 she was third in the world championship long distance, only beaten by Dana Brožková from the Czech Republic and Marianne Andersen from Norway. She also reached third place in the relay, as in 2010. At the 2011 World Championships in France, she was finally world champion in the long distance. With the season she won bronze for the third time.
In 2012 she won the bronze medal with the relay at the European Championships in Sweden. In the middle and long distance she reached the positions five and six. She concluded the 2012 World Championships in Lausanne with two bronze medals and one silver medal with the relay, in which she ran with Helena Jansson and Tove Alexandersson . In the sprint she was third behind Simone Niggli-Luder from Switzerland and Maja Alm from Denmark , in the long-distance race she had to admit defeat to Niggli-Luder and Minna Kauppi from Finland .
In the sprint race of the World Games 2013 in Colombia, Billstam won the gold medal in front of Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg from Norway and Maja Alm. At the world championships in Vuokatti , Finland , she won silver in the sprint behind Niggli-Luder. In 2014 she celebrated her second world title in Italy after a success in the middle distance ahead of the Danish Ida Bobach . With the relay she won bronze again.
Billstam's mother club is the Järfälla OK . Between 2002 and 2007 she started for the association OK Linné , 2008 to 2011 for the IFK Lidingö and since then again for Linné. Billstam works as a landscape architect .
