Mona Nørgaard
Mona Nørgaard (born February 23, 1948 ) is a former Danish orienteer . She became individual world champion in 1974.
The 1974 World Championships took place in Silkeborg , Denmark . In her victory in the 7.9 kilometer individual race, she was almost three minutes ahead of Sweden's Kristin Cullman . With the season she came in sixth. In 1975 she won the title at the Nordic Championships in Nørre Snede ahead of the Finn Liisa Veijalainen . Here, too, they had a relatively large lead of over two minutes. As the defending champion, she traveled to the World Championships in Aviemore, Scotland, in 1976 . Here Liisa Veijalainen won the women's individual competition ahead of Kristin Cullman. Nørgaard finished fourth.
