In 1976 Eid became Nordic champion with the Norwegian junior relay. The following year she won the Nordic championship in the relay with Tine Fjogstad and Wenche Jacobsen in the active. In 1978 Anne took part in her first world championship with Eid and won the individual decision in front of the Finn Liisa Veijalainen and Wenche Jacobsen. At the World Championships a year later in Tampere , Finland , she also won a silver medal with the Norwegian women's relay.
