history

Originally, Duisburg and Düsseldorf were already set as the host cities. The two German cities thus prevailed against 20 competitors. With a council resolution of December 8, 2008, the city of Duisburg canceled the hosting of the event due to the budget freeze for the city of Duisburg imposed by the district president.

Results

With four gold medals and one silver medal, the German Marcel Hassemeier was the most successful athlete at the 2013 World Games and was also voted “Athlete of the Year”.
