The 2nd World Games 1985 took place in London from July 25th to August 4th 1985 . 1227 athletes participated in 21 sports.
Competition venues
Most of the plants were in the city of London. There were a total of nine different competition venues.
- Wembley Arena and Wembley Conference Center : Opening Ceremonies, Bodybuilding and Powerlifting
- Crystal Palace National Sports Center : fin swimming , Karate , Korfball , Netball , rescue sports , roller sports , Sambo , taekwondo and trampolining
- Copthall Stadium : Boules , casting , fistball , softball and tug of war
- Wimbledon Stadium : Motorcycling
- The David Lloyd Racquet Center : Racquetball
- Princes Club Bedfont : water skiing
- Stevenage Bowling Center in Stevenage : Bowling
- Tolmers Scout Camp in Cuffey in the county of Hertfordshire : Field Archery
sports
114 competitions in the 20 official sports and two competitions in an invitation sport were held. Compared to the World Games 1981 , the sports baseball and badminton no longer took part in the event. At the same time, six new official sports were added to the event (boules, field archery, korfball, netball, rescue sports and sambo).
