Alm ran between 2004 and 2008 in a total of five Junior World Championships and was third in 2007 in the sprint and second in 2008 with the Danish relay. In 2007 it was used for the first time at the world championships of the elite and reached eighth place in the season. Her international breakthrough finally came in 2010 when she won bronze in the sprint at the European Championships in Bulgaria behind Helena Jansson from Sweden and Simone Niggli from Switzerland. At the end of the 2010 season she was third in the overall World Cup behind Niggli and Jansson. At the 2011 World Championships in France, she just missed a medal with fourth place in the sprint. In 2012 Alm achieved third place in the European championship sprint. in theThis time, Lugnet only had to let Simone Niggli and the Swede Lena Eliasson go first. Two months later at the World Championships in Lausanne, she was second behind Niggli in the sprint.
In 2014 she was second behind her compatriot Signe Søes in the middle distance at the European Championships in Palmela, Portugal . At the World Championships of the same year in northern Italy, Alm was third in the sprint behind Judith Wyder from Switzerland and Tove Alexandersson from Sweden . Alm won the silver medal with the Danish women's relay and in the newly introduced relay competition for mixed teams.
Alm belongs to the athletics department of Aarhus GF . She competes in orienteering for OK HTF and internationally for OK Pan Århus . Until 2011 she ran internationally for the Swedish club Ulricehamns OK , with which she won the Venla in 2009 . With OK Pan she won the Venla in 2013 and 2014.
