Lugnet is a sports and leisure facility in the Swedish city of Falun , as well as a nature reserve.

The extensive area of ​​the facility includes the Reichsskistadion, the Lugnet ski jumps , an ice stadium ( Lugnets Isstadion ), an athletics stadium, a tennis hall and other sports halls, an outdoor pool, as well as an indoor pool and camping. The largest building is the Lugnethallen , which houses the indoor swimming pool, a gymnastics hall and another sports hall, which u. a. is also used for concerts.

A total of around 60 different sports can be practiced on the site.

Use of the site

Lugnet is home to numerous sports clubs that have their home venues here. These include u. a. the floorball club IBF Falun , the bandy and football club Falu BS . The athletics facilities serve u. a. the Kallur Sisters ( Jenny and Susanna Kallur ) as a training location . The facilities are also used by the sports high school (Lugnetsgymnasium).

Every year the Reichsskistadion ( Lugnets Riksskidstadion ) is the venue for cross-country skiing World Cup competitions. During the European orienteering championships in 2012 , the sprint and relay were held here.

The Nordic World Ski Championships were held on the site in 2015 and the entire facility was modernized.

Others

For the 100th anniversary of the Swedish Sports Federation in 2003, the Reichsskistadion on the Lugnet site was added to the list of 100 Swedish sporting historical sites.
