Frédéric Tranchand (born May 25, 1988 ) is a French orienteer who won the bronze medal at the 2010 World Sprint Championships.

Tranchand started three times at the Junior World Championships between 2006 and 2008 and was able to achieve his best individual result with an eleventh place over the long distance in 2008. In 2008 he ran for the first time in active competitions, at the European Championship Sprint 2008 in Ventspils he took 31st place. In 2009 Tranchand started for the first time at world championships, but failed in the sprint qualification. At the 2010 European Championships in Primorsko , Bulgaria , he won silver in the relay with Philippe Adamski and Thierry Gueorgiou . He finally landed the big surprise at the 2010 World Championships in Trondheim , when he won the bronze medal in the sprint behind the Swiss Matthias Müller and Fabian Hertner .
