Night Train to Venice ( Train to Hell ) is a thriller by Italian director Carlo U. Quinterio from the year 1993 .

action

The author Martin Gamble has records of a number of neo-Nazis who are up to mischief in Venice . He wants to take the Orient Express night train there to deliver these notes to a publisher. On the same train is the young and pretty actress Vera Cortese with her daughter and the mother of her late husband. Fleeing from her past, she is on the way to her apartment in Venice, where the great Carnevale is taking place, which is why the train is full except for the last compartment.

Martin does not know that the group of neo-Nazis is also on the Orient Express and that they know very well that he has these records. You're trying to get him out of the way. Then there's an eerie man who seems to be very knowledgeable about Vera's past. Many years ago, when Vera was still a child, she met him in a dilapidated house in Venice. He shows her the picture of her daughter Pia, who struts on the railing of a balcony with a doll in her hand. Vera and Martin fall in love and what follows is a wild night on the train. Vera gets scary at the stranger, and then her daughter disappears too and only reappears when the stranger brings her back.

Vera takes Martin in in Venice. The next day he goes to the agreed meeting point, a dilapidated house on the outskirts of Venice. There he did not meet the publisher, however, but the neo-Nazis. They chase him through the house with bloodhounds and Martin falls. He's losing memory. The only people who can help him now are Vera and her daughter.

criticism

“With Hugh Grant on the way to the top, Malcom McDowell and Raquel Welch's beautiful daughter Tahnee, the cast is just right. There is tension and atmosphere. The music consists of clanking horror tones. The Venice Carnival was photographed very nicely. "
