Armando Nannuzzi
Armando Nannuzzi (born September 21, 1925 in Rome , † May 14, 2001 in Ostia ) was an Italian cameraman .
Life
Nannuzzi's career in film began in 1942 when he accompanied his first film in the panning function, which he held until 1955. Most of all he worked with Arturo Gallea . His first film that was mainly photographed was Carlo Lizzani's Lo svitato . He developed into one of the most respected cameramen in Italian film, best known for using light and shadow effects. One example is his camera work for Luchino Visconti's Ludwig II and Die Verdammten . Nannuzzi was also engaged for European and Hollywood productions. During his almost 100 films he worked with directors as diverse as B. Franco Zeffirelli , John Sturges , Mauro Bolognini (with whom he shot from 1957 to 1982), and Roger Corman . He lost an eye in an accident while filming Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive .
In 1974 and 1976 he directed two films with prominent cast and based on Raimondo Del Balzo and a novel by Ugo Moretti , which were soon lost in the oversupply at the time.
