Ralph Herforth

Ralph Herforth (actually: Ralph Schwachmeier ; born January 15, 1960 in Herford ) is a German actor . He chose his stage name based on his place of birth.

Life

Ralph Herforth was discovered in 1979 when he was assistant for lesson planning in a Salzburg musical seminar. In the same year he began his training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, which he completed in 1982. He had his first engagement in 1983 at the Berlin Schillertheater . He then had other appearances at the Stadttheater Heilbronn and the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf .

He made his screen debut in 1992 in the film Schattenboxer , directed by Lars Becker , followed by various film and television productions with well-known directors such as Fatih Akın , Roland Suso Richter and Friedemann Fromm . He also worked in major cinema productions as a supporting actor, such as in Knockin 'on Heaven's Door , Kurz und painless and The Polar Bear alongside Til Schweiger , before he was offered one of the leading roles in Dominik Graf's The Rock . In 2005, Herforth played a killer in Aeon Flux on the side of Charlize Theron .

Ralph Herforth married the actress Zora Holt in summer 2011 . At the end of August of the same year, he became a father for the third time. The couple lives with their son and daughter in the Klosterheide district of Lindow (Mark) , in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district . Herforth has two other sons from a previous relationship. He has a twin brother who is five minutes younger than him.

In addition to his work as an actor, Herforth is also the managing director of a real estate brokerage .
