action
The student Nora Beier is found murdered. She and her friend Liane worked for an escort agency . Jan suspects that Liane is hiding something and meets with her as a customer in a restaurant . He can win her trust and she tells him that Nora spied on her customers and asked for money for what she was killed for. The escort boss Doris Berger, a former partner of Hajo, does not want to give out any customer data. Thereupon Liane is threatened by employees of a security service and calls Jan for help, who shoots the perpetrator in self-defense . But an accomplice knocks Jan unconscious. When he wakes up, Liana and the perpetrator's weapon are gone and the public prosecutor begins to investigate Jan. Liane is later found and makes an astonishing statement: Jan shot her boyfriend out of jealousy. Jan's colleagues are now trying to prove his innocence. From Doris they know the identity of the last customer and find out that he worked in the development department of an automotive supplier. Hajo convinces the agency boss Doris to make a statement. She should name who commissioned the espionage work . But neither she nor the last customer comes to court. Both were murdered. Now Jan has to go to prison for 6 years for killing in affect , where it is quite difficult for him as a police officer. His murder is planned, but he does not want to be embarrassed. A prison inmate, previously deputy chairman of a Landesbank , writes the account number of a Liechtenstein numbered account on Jan, who is lying in the infirmary after an attempted murder . His colleagues found out from the movements of this account that an employee of the company where the dead inventor had worked had transferred large sums to the security service. To prove his innocence in the murders, he coaxes a confession from the head of the security service. This refutes Jan's guilt. Liane had made a false statement because the criminals threatened to harm her family. Now she is telling the truth and Jan is free again.

reception
criticism
Oddsmeter.de judged appreciatively: "The production team is rewarding itself with the two-parter, because the two feature films have become an eye-catcher, which have a lot in store for thrills and excitement." Scenes in the second part too clichéd ('fresh meat from the bull') and possibly outdated. On the other hand, the final resolution in the second part is a bit disappointing. Unfortunately, it is all too easy to give the impression that the ideas for a good finale as a grand finale came out. ”“ Ultimately, however, 'SOKO Leipzig: Captive' knows how to convince despite the small weaknesses in the second part. It's definitely a birthday present for a ten-year-old for the people of Leipzig. "
Rainer Tittelbach from Tittelbach.tv assessed: “The first 90 minutes are difficult to get going. The second part then vigorously tightens the tension screw. But you have to like this mixture of US series from the 1980s, TV movie from the 1990s and the ZDF Friday thriller from the late 2000s, which is overloaded with genre clichés.
